Tank vs Roach Fight Preview
Davis has established himself as one of the most well-followed fighters on the planet and arguably the sport’s biggest U.S star in recent years.
The now 30-year-old successfully defended his current lightweight world title last time out in June, with another vicious eighth-round knockout of Frank Martin in Las Vegas.
Now, from Sin City to The Big Apple, it’s Brooklyn that plays host to Tank’s ring return against Roach, in a match-up that was originally scheduled to take place in December last year before a postponement.
Riding high on a six-fight win streak since his sole career defeat to former world champion Jamel Herring in 2019, Roach enters the ring as a confident underdog and was most-recently in action with an eighth-round stoppage of Irishman Feargal McCrory last June.
‘The Reaper’ is expected to draw some attention for a potential shock on his travels to NYC but Davis has even more prosperous clashes in sights on the horizon and is focused on lining those up with another showcase triumph here.
A high-profile unification showdown with fellow lightweight champion, Shakur Stevenson, looks to be on the cards in the near future.
But ‘Tank’ will be aiming to get the job done in typically devastating fashion against Roach first before turning attentions to the bigger names in a stacked division.
